The king is the key piece of chess. If the king of a player is threatened to catch the next shot in an unstoppable manner, it is said to be unsuccessful and the player concerned loses the game. The king moves one square in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), except on a square occupied by a piece of its color or controlled by an enemy piece.
