Illustration for football fans "I can not have Strasbourg" The Racing Club Strasbourg Alsace, abbreviated Racing or RCS, is a French football club founded in 1906 under the name of FC Neudorf, named after a district of Strasbourg. He played his first official matches in 1909 with the German federation, before being officially baptized Racing Club de Strasbourg and join the competitions organized in France in 1919. The club moved in 1914 to the garden Haemmerlé, a long plain on which is built the current Meinau stadium in 1921. The club achieved professional status in 1933 and became one of the best French clubs. After two finals lost in 1937 and 1947, the RC Strasbourg won a first Coupe de France in 1951. In the 1960s, he played his first continental competitions, where he eliminated notably AC Milan and FC Barcelona. He then won a second Coupe de France in 1966 before obtaining the title of champion of France in 1979. Since the mid-1990s, the winners are completed by an Intertoto Cup (1995), three League Cups (1997, 2005 and 2019) and a third Coupe de France (2001)
