the promised neverland is a manga created by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from August 1, 2016 to June 15, 2020, and the individual chapters have been collected and published in 21 tankobon volumes as of February 2021. The story follows a group of children orphans in their escape plan from an orphanage the promised neverland was well received by critics. The series was the fourth best-selling manga of 2019, with 6.6 million copies sold. In North America, the manga has sold over 1.5 million copies. As of February 2021, the manga has over 26 million copies in print worldwide the promised neverland was also adapted into an anime television series by CloverWorks which aired from January to March 2019, and into a live-action film which was released in December 2020.
